THE HERMIT/ THE ARTIST IN HIS STUDY
2014
Acrylic on Paper
8 X 10″

Inspired by an illustration from an old alchemical text. The artist, as the wizard Zuben Genubi, studying late at night. This is a common sight, and one that perfectly corresponds to the artist’s tarot birth cards: the Hermit, and the Moon.

THE ARTIST AS THE FOOL

2014
Acrylic on Paper
7 x 9.5″

The Fool is the archetype for beginnings. His blind trust in the universe is necessary in taking that first step into the unknown. Here, my posture is that of the Tarot Fool, but my costume is my own; in fact, the very one I wore in real life as I let go of my old life and ventured out into the new.
